High School Trip to the Naki
![]() |
Welcome to the Auckland University Canoe Club's High School Trip. This trip is open to year 12 and 13 students. This trip takes us to Taranaki (hard core!) to paddle the Normanby loop and the slalom section. The Normanby loop is an excellent introduction to river kayaking, with a nice flat section to warm up on, a 7m weir (kind of like a waterslide spanning the whole river) to play around on, and a great piece of beginner whitewater. The whole point of this trip is to give you a chance to get out there and try some whitewater action. No prior experience is necessary. All we ask is a positive mindset and a smile. |
